Terms of Service
Last updated: June 11, 2026 · Effective: May 20, 2026
These Terms are available in English only.
In short
By using Yoonle you agree to use it lawfully, respect the AI-generated content limitations, and (if you subscribe to Pro) pay the recurring fee shown at checkout. You can cancel any time. We don’t offer prorated refunds for partial billing periods, but we always honour statutory consumer-protection rights for EU residents.
Agreement
These Terms of Service (“Terms”) form a binding agreement between you (“you”, “your”) and Yoonle AI (“Yoonle”, “we”, “us”, “our”) governing your use of the website at yoonle.com, the application at app.yoonle.com, and the Yoonle mobile app for iOS and Android (together, the “Service”).
By creating an account or using the Service, you confirm that you have read, understood, and agreed to these Terms and to our Privacy Policy. If you do not agree, do not use the Service.
Eligibility
- You must be at least 13 years oldto create an account — or older where your country’s law sets a higher minimum age for consenting to the processing of personal data (e.g. 15 in France, 16 in Germany).
- You must provide accurate registration information and keep it up to date.
- You may not create an account if a previous account of yours was terminated for breach of these Terms.
- If you use the Service on behalf of an organisation, you confirm that you have authority to bind that organisation to these Terms.
Your account
- You are responsible for everything that happens under your account, including maintaining the confidentiality of your sign-in credentials and OAuth connections.
- Notify us immediately at security@yoonle.com if you suspect unauthorised access.
- One person, one account. Sharing your account with others is not permitted on the Free or Pro plans.
Plans, pricing, and billing
4.1 Free plan (“Wanderer”)
The Free plan is offered at no charge. It includes a metered amount of AI-generated trails, AI-generated quizzes, AI-generated flash card decks, AI Tutor turns, and duels per day, together with all progress, XP, achievements, public-profile and community features (follow, leaderboard, podium, friends-mode duels). The exact daily limits, and any features reserved for the Pro plan, are listed on our pricing page. We may change the Free plan’s features or limits with reasonable notice.
4.2 Pro plan (“Master”)
The Pro plan is a paid subscription billed monthly or annually as you choose at checkout. The price displayed at checkout is the price you pay (excluding applicable taxes, which are added at checkout where required). Prices are in United States Dollars (USD).
Pro unlocks (i) higher daily limits on trail generation, quiz generation, flash card deck generation (with larger deck sizes — up to 60 cards), AI Tutor turns, and duels; (ii) the trail-from-materials and flash-card-from-materials flows (uploading PDFs / text / images as study sources); (iii) the private-visibility toggle on trails, quizzes, and flash card decks; (iv) streak-freeze charges that are granted periodically and which you can manually apply from your dashboard to rescue a streak the day after a missed day (you cannot accrue more than the cap of charges in inventory at once); (v) PDF, Markdown, and Anki-TSV export of any completed trail, quiz, or flash card deck; (vi) public-profile customisation (custom avatar upload, OAuth profile-picture option, custom cover image or preset gradient, bio of up to 280 characters, up to six featured trails); and (vii) the Founding Explorer badge if you subscribe during the launch window. The currently-published feature matrix on the pricing page and our Help Center describe each feature in detail.
- Auto-renewal. Your subscription renews automatically at the end of each billing period at the then-current price unless you cancel before renewal.
- Cancellation. If you subscribed on the web, you can cancel any time from Settings → Billing. If you subscribed in the mobile app, cancel in your App Store or Google Play subscription settings (see Section 4.5). Cancellation takes effect at the end of the current paid period; you keep Pro features until then.
- Plan changes. Upgrades take effect immediately and are prorated. Downgrades take effect at the end of the current period.
- Failed payments. If a renewal payment fails, we may retry billing for up to 14 days. If we cannot collect, we will downgrade your account to the Free plan and your trails, quizzes, and flash card decks created on Pro will remain accessible read-only.
4.3 Refunds
Subscription fees are non-refundable for partial billing periods, except where required by law.
EU consumers: by purchasing a digital subscription that begins providing the service immediately, you expressly consent to the supply beginning before the 14-day statutory withdrawal period expires and you acknowledge that you lose the right of withdrawal once the service has begun (Directive 2011/83/EU, Art. 16(m)).
We will issue a full refund where billing occurred in error, where the Service was materially unavailable for an extended period attributable to us, or where required by mandatory consumer-protection law. Refund requests: billing@yoonle.com.
4.4 Taxes
Prices do not include sales, use, value-added (VAT), or similar taxes. Where we are required to collect such taxes (e.g. EU VAT for B2C consumers), they are added at checkout based on your billing address.
4.5 Purchases made through the App Store or Google Play
If you subscribe to Pro inside the iOS or Android app, the purchase is processed by Apple or Google — not by Yoonle or Stripe — under the payment terms of the respective store. For those purchases:
- The price, currency, billing, auto-renewal, and cancellation are managed by the store. Cancel in your Apple ID or Google Play subscription settings; cancelling takes effect at the end of the current paid period.
- Refunds are handled by the store, under Apple’s or Google’s refund policies. We cannot issue refunds for store purchases directly; request them through the App Store or Google Play. Statutory consumer-protection rights are unaffected.
- Your Pro entitlement is shared across web and mobile: a subscription purchased in one place unlocks Pro everywhere you sign in with the same account. You should not hold an active web (Stripe) subscription and an active store subscription at the same time — the app will direct you to the correct place to manage whichever one you have.
- Apple and Google are not parties to these Terms, have no obligation to provide support or maintenance for the Service, and are not responsible for addressing any claims relating to the Service or your use of it.
Acceptable use
You agree not to use the Service to:
- Generate trails, quizzes, flash card decks, or AI Tutor prompts on topics that promote illegal activity, violence, child sexual abuse material, terrorism, or self-harm;
- Attempt to discover or extract the prompts, weights, or system internals of our AI agents, or to reverse-engineer the Service;
- Probe, scan, or test the vulnerability of our infrastructure without prior written consent;
- Use automated means (bots, scrapers, scripts) to access the Service or to generate trails, quizzes, flash card decks, duels, or tutor turns at a rate exceeding the documented plan limits;
- Use community features (follow, duels, leaderboards, public profile, comments) to harass, threaten, defame, stalk, dox, sexualise, or impersonate any other Explorer or any real-world person, public figure, or brand;
- Manipulate XP, streaks, the leaderboard, the podium, or duel outcomes through multi-accounting, collusion, automated answer-solving, or any other artificial means;
- Resell, sublicense, or redistribute trail, quiz, or flash card deck content, exported PDFs / Markdown / Anki-TSV files, or any other part of the Service without our prior written permission;
- Upload materials, avatars, or cover images you do not have the right to upload (e.g. copyrighted books, paywalled articles, confidential employer documents, third-party photos used without consent);
- Choose a username, display name, bio, or featured-trails set that impersonates another person or brand, contains slurs or harassing content, or is otherwise designed to mislead other Explorers;
- Use the Service to violate the privacy or rights of others, or to send spam.
We reserve the right to suspend or terminate any account that violates these rules, with or without notice depending on severity.
Your content and our content
6.1 Your inputs
You retain all ownership rights in the topics, materials, and notes you submit to the Service (“Your Inputs”). You grant us a worldwide, royalty-free licence to host, process, and display Your Inputs solely to provide the Service to you.
6.2 AI-generated trails, quizzes, flash card decks, tutor replies & exports
Trails, quizzes, flash card decks, AI Tutor replies, practice grading explanations, and any PDF, Markdown, or Anki-TSV export generated by the Service in response to Your Inputs are produced by third-party Large Language Models. To the extent we hold any ownership in the generated text, questions, answer keys, card fronts and backs, structure, and metadata, we grant you a perpetual, worldwide, royalty-free licence to use that generated content for your personal learning, including for non-commercial sharing (e.g. sending a friend a PDF, posting a screenshot of a quiz result, importing a deck into your local Anki).
You may not resell or commercially redistribute generated trails, quizzes, flash card decks, exported PDFs / Markdown / Anki-TSV files, tutor explanations, or any other AI output as your own product, course material, training corpus, or assessment bank without our prior written consent.
6.3 No guarantee of accuracy
AI-generated content can be incorrect, incomplete, or out of date. The Service is for personal learning and informational purposes only. It is not professional advice (medical, legal, financial, psychological, or otherwise). Always verify important facts and consult a qualified professional for significant decisions.
6.4 User-generated image content (avatars & cover images)
The Pro plan lets you upload two kinds of profile imagery: a custom avatar (square headshot) and a custom cover image (banner on your public profile). Both are treated as user-generated content and the following rules apply to each, in addition to the rest of Section 6.
- Licence. You grant Yoonle a perpetual, worldwide, royalty-free, non-exclusive licence to host, store, resize, encode, and display the image you upload, solely so we can render it as your avatar or cover image within the Service (on your public profile, on leaderboards and the podium, in community and duel surfaces, and anywhere else your account identity appears).
- Your warranty.You confirm you are the owner of the image, or that you otherwise have the right to grant the licence above, and that uploading the image does not infringe any third party’s copyright, trademark, publicity, privacy, or other rights.
- Prohibited content. You must not upload images depicting nudity, sexual content, graphic violence, gore, hate symbols, content that promotes or glorifies self-harm or suicide, or imagery designed to impersonate another real person, public figure, or brand. Avatar and cover uploads are automatically screened by an image content-safety classifier; the screen runs synchronously and blocks uploads that meet our severity thresholds (see our Privacy Policy for details).
- Our discretion. We may remove, refuse, or roll back any avatar or cover image at our sole discretion, including images that pass the automated screen but are later reported, where removal is reasonable to protect other users or our brand. Where possible we will notify you before removal.
- Tier downgrade. If your Pro subscription ends and you return to the Free plan, your custom-uploaded avatar and custom cover image stop being displayed publicly (the Free public profile shows a preset avatar / default banner). Your most recently verified avatarupload is retained on your account so you can restore it if you resubscribe to Pro. The cover image is not retained for later restoration — the cover pipeline has no resubscription-restore flow and bytes are removed from storage at the moment they are swapped. You can ask us to delete any stored upload at any time.
6.5 Our intellectual property
The Yoonle name, logo, design system, source code, and underlying agent prompts are owned by us and protected by intellectual-property laws. Nothing in these Terms grants you any right in them beyond the limited right to use the Service.
6.6 Public-profile content (bio & featured trails)
Every Explorer has a public profile at app.yoonle.com/u/<username>. In addition to avatar / cover (Section 6.4), the following content you set is visible to anyone with the link: your display name, your @username, your bio (Pro), and the list of trails you have pinned as “featured” (Pro, up to six slots).
- Licence. By writing a bio or pinning featured trails, you grant Yoonle a perpetual, worldwide, royalty-free, non-exclusive licence to display them on your public profile and in our community surfaces (e.g. leaderboard hover-cards, podium pages).
- Your warranty.Bios must not contain content that violates Section 5 — in particular no slurs, harassment, doxxing of other people, spam, paid promotions, third-party trademarks used to imply endorsement, or contact details for the purpose of solicitation.
- Featured trails must be your own. You may only feature trails on your account. Featuring a trail that you have marked as publicmeans the trail’s outline (topic, audience, duration, module titles) is shown to anyone who opens your profile; your personal progress through that trail is not exposed.
- Our discretion. We may hide, edit, or remove any public-profile field at our sole discretion where the content violates these Terms or applicable law. Where possible we will notify you before doing so.
- Username changes. Changing your username does not redirect older copies of your profile URL. You are responsible for updating any places you have shared it.
Third-party services
The Service depends on third-party providers including Microsoft Azure AI Foundry (LLM inference for trail generation, quiz generation, flash card deck generation, AI Tutor chats, and practice grading), Microsoft Azure AI Content Safety (automated image screening for Pro avatar and cover-image uploads), Microsoft Azure Blob Storage (encrypted storage of Pro avatar and cover-image uploads), Supabase (database / auth / storage), Vercel (hosting), Stripe (web billing), RevenueCat (mobile subscription management), Apple (optional sign-in; App Store billing), Google (optional sign-in; Google Play billing), Expo (mobile push-notification delivery), and Resend (email). Your use of the Service is also subject to those providers’ terms where they apply directly to you (e.g. Stripe’s payment terms at web checkout, or Apple’s / Google’s store terms for in-app purchases).
Suspension and termination
You may terminate your account at any time via Settings → Account → Delete account.
We may suspend or terminate your access immediately if (i) you breach these Terms, (ii) we are required to do so by law, (iii) prolonged inactivity exceeds 24 months on a Free account, or (iv) your account triggers our automated abuse defences. Where reasonably possible we will give you advance notice and an opportunity to remedy.
On termination, sections of these Terms that by their nature should survive (Sections 6, 9, 10, 11, 12, 13, 14) will survive.
Disclaimer of warranties
The Service is provided “as is” and “as available”. To the maximum extent permitted by law, we disclaim all warranties, express or implied, including any implied warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, accuracy, and non-infringement. We do not warrant that the Service will be uninterrupted, error-free, secure, or that AI-generated content will be accurate or suitable for your purposes.
Some jurisdictions do not allow exclusion of certain warranties; the above disclaimer applies only to the extent permitted by your local law.
Limitation of liability
To the maximum extent permitted by law, in no event will Yoonle, its officers, employees, agents, or sub-processors be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, exemplary, or punitive damages, including loss of profits, revenue, data, or goodwill, arising out of or related to your use of the Service, even if advised of the possibility of such damages.
Our total cumulative liability for any claim arising out of or related to the Service will not exceed the greater of (a) the amount you paid us in the 12 months preceding the claim or (b) USD 100.
Nothing in this Section limits liability for fraud, gross negligence, wilful misconduct, death or personal injury caused by negligence, or any liability that cannot be limited or excluded under your local law.
Indemnity
You agree to indemnify and hold harmless Yoonle from any third-party claim, loss, or expense (including reasonable legal fees) arising out of (i) your breach of these Terms, (ii) your misuse of the Service, or (iii) your violation of any third-party right, including intellectual-property or privacy rights.
Changes to the Service or these Terms
We may update the Service and these Terms from time to time. For material changes that adversely affect your rights, we will give at least 30 days’ advance notice via email or in-app notice. Your continued use after the effective date constitutes acceptance of the updated Terms. If you do not accept the changes, you must stop using the Service before they take effect and may cancel your subscription per Section 4.2.
Governing law and disputes
These Terms are governed by the laws of France, without regard to conflict-of-laws principles.
EU consumersalways retain the protection of the mandatory consumer-protection laws of their country of residence and may bring claims before the courts of that country. The European Commission’s online dispute resolution platform is available at ec.europa.eu/consumers/odr.
For any other user, disputes will be brought exclusively before the competent courts of Paris, France.
Miscellaneous
- Entire agreement. These Terms and the Privacy Policy form the entire agreement between you and us regarding the Service.
- Severability. If any provision is held unenforceable, the remaining provisions remain in full effect.
- No waiver. Our failure to enforce a provision is not a waiver of that provision.
- Assignment. You may not assign these Terms without our consent. We may assign them in connection with a merger, acquisition, or sale of assets.
- Force majeure. We are not liable for failure to perform due to events beyond our reasonable control (acts of God, war, pandemic, internet or cloud-provider outage, etc.).
